In Episode Nine we talk to dreamers. Hear from Mark Dixon, Jamil Bey, Ken Lawrence, and Sara Brenner about the limits of capitalism when it comes to climate change response. We learn about the importance of living more simply and “powering down”, not just “powering through”. Ken and Sara talked with us about the internal, emotional impacts of climate change that need to be confronted and addressed. We discussed what this grieving process looks like for them.

We met Jamil in Everyday Café in the Homewood Neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Everyday Café was started by a local church to bring people in the community together. In addition to building the coffee shop, they have worked to clean up empty lots in the neighborhood and started greenhouses and aquaponics projects to encourage community engagement with food.
